CHRISTMAS DANCE: Ballyheigue Drama Group’s Annual Christmas Concert & Dance
will take place on Saturday 12th December in O’Regan’s Lounge.
This year will feature a new addition to our ‘Start the Christmas Festival’
with the lighting of the Christmas Tree at 5 o’clock outside O’Regan’s
Bar. This will feature Carol Singers from local schools who have been busy
rehearsing over the last couple of weeks. Also the switching on of the
Christmas Lights will be carried out by a very special guest. Sweets and
light refreshments served to all - sponsored by Gearoid O’Regan and Staff.
Doors will open at 9.00pm in the Lounge for a night of fun, dance and
comedy which will feature local singers and dancers. The Drama Group will
also feature their usual Christmas Comedy sketch & Santa and his Helpers
will distribute Spot prizes on the night; and hot punch with traditional
Christmas cake and savouries on arrival. Music for dancing will be
provided by Eddie Lee’s Band. Admission is only €5 with all profits going
to the Palliative Care Unit, Tralee. A great night as usual to kick start
the Christmas.
St. VINCENT De PAUL: Plastic bags given out last week-end at the Church
for any old but clean clothing will be collected this week-end 14th/15th
November at all Masses.
CHOIR WORKSHOP: On Monday, 16th November there will be a choir workshop in St.
John’s Parish Church, Tralee 7.00pm-9.00pm. Choir members from all
Parishes invited to attend. Dr. John O’Keeffe, a native of Portmagee,
Director of Sacred Music at St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, and lecturer
in music at NUI, Maynooth, will conduct a workshop on his new Mass, ‘Mass
of Saint Mel’. Copies will be available. Easily memorised and the
melodies are attractive and easy on the ear, carrying echoes of chant and
native Irish song.
PIETA HOUSE, CRISIS CENTRE: We provide a life-saving, barrier free service
