COMMUNITY GAMES 2015: ‘Munster’ finals in UL last Saturday was a hub of
activity. A very enjoyable day was had with all our teams making the
finals. After a much anticipated draughts game our U-12 team came out
dominant winners with a score of 8-2. David O’Sullivan, Adam Dineen, Dara
Kearney, Denis Lynch, Dara Donnelly, Eric Walsh and Darragh O’Fuarain
brought the Gold Medals back to the Kingdom and now prepare for the
Al-Irelands in Athlone this August. Our U-14 draughts team of Matthew
Dineen, Seimi O’Fuarain, Jimmy O’Halloran, Aidan Reidy, Luke McCrohan and
Adam O’Leary was very unlucky. They had a draw and then lost on a count
back to receive second place and 6 more Silver medals for Kerry. The U-16
Skittles team of Darren Stack, Bryan Sheehan, Maggie Lynch, Lisa Kearney
and Caoimhe Reidy lost out to a very popular and strong Tipperary side that
definitely had skittles in the blood. 2nd place and 5 silver medals in the ‘
Munsters’ was fantastic for our 1st time playing skittles at this level.
Thanks to Terence Dineen who coaches our draughts team and to all who
travelled.
