BALLYHEIGUE NOTES – 8th June 2015

CAMPA SAMHRAIDH/SUMMER CAMP: Ógras, the oldest Irish language youth
organisation, will run a Summer Camp at Ballyheigue Community Centre from
July 27th to 31st to encourage young people aged 7 to 14 to practise their
Irish in a fun environment. Camp will run from 10 to 2.30 with a trip on
Thursday. Participants will engage in a wide range of activities including
conversational practise, hurling, football, soccer, basketball, hockey,
volleyball, badminton, tennis, drama, music, table quiz and art. Cost is
€50 for first participant and €45 for second and subsequent participants.

IRISH WATER SAFETY - are holding swimming classes in Ballyheigue July
13-17, and Water Safety course at Meenogahane Pier, Causeway July 20-25.

GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Saturday night’s GAA
Lotto: 3-8-12-19. The Jackpot of €950 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot
will be €1,000. The two €50 winners were: David Griffin, Buncurrig and Aine

UNDER-13: The Ballyheigue U-13 hurlers defeated Lixnaw in the North Kerry
Championship on Tuesday evening. Full time score Ballyheigue 5-3 and

UNDER 11: The Ballyheigue U-11 hurlers with wins over Causeway,
Abbeydorney, and Tralee Parnells and with victory over Crotta on Friday
evening, they were crowned North Kerry Under-11 Champions. Well done and

CHRISTY RING CUP: Congratulations to the Kerry Senior hurlers who defeated
Derry in the Christy Ring Cup final at Croke Park on Saturday. Final score
– Kerry 1-20 and Derry 0-12. The Ballyheigue Club was represented on the
panel by Philip Lucid. The Kerry hurlers will play in the Leinster
Championship Round Robin series in 2016. They also won promotion to
Division 1B.

FIXTURES; Co. Senior hurling league Division 3 Ballyheigue ‘B’ v St. Pats
this Wednesday at St. Pats 7.30pm. Co. Senior hurling League Division 1.
Ballyheigue v Ballyduff at John Joe O’Sullivan Park this Thursday evening 7.30
pm.

COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 1st June in the
Ballyheigue & District Coursing Club Lotto: 4-19-20-25. Jackpot was not
won. The €50 winner was J. & K. Hayes, C/o Tom Joe. The €25 winners were:
