AGM: Ballyheigue Social Economy Scheme is holding its AGM in the Community
Centre on this Wednesday 15th April at 8.00 pm. All are welcome to attend.
DAFFODIL DAY: Thanks to everyone who supported our ‘Daffodil Day Coffee
Morning’ on Friday 23rd March last at Kerryhead/Ballyheigue Family Resource
Centre. We raised an amazing €1,040. Hope to see you all again next year.
MEMORIAL TRACTOR RUN: Kevin Hare's Memorial Tractor Run will take place on
Sunday 19th April meeting at 3pm at Ballyheigue beach and leaving at 3.30pm.
It will travel over Chapel Road to Causeway up Farren, back north road and
around Kerryhead. It will be its 3rd tractor run, Causeway Macra and his
friends are organising this, and all are welcome.
ROWING: Ballyheigue rowing club are holding a meeting on Wednesday the
22nd April in Ballyheigue Family Resource Centre at 8 pm.
BALLYHEIGUE 5/10K BY THE BAY: The Kerryhead/Ballyheigue Family Resource
Centre annual Road Race & Fun Run will take place on this Sunday 19th April
at 12 noon. Registration will take place at Ballyheigue Community Centre
between 10am and 11.30am. Race starts the beach car park and refreshments
will be provided during and after event. Entry is €5 for 5km and €10 for

GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Saturday night’s GAA
Lotto: 5-9-15-26. The Jackpot of €5.550 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot
will be €5,600. The two €50 winners were: Aine O’Connor, Church Road and
Hugh Collins, Dreenagh. The €25 winner was Joe O’Riordan, The Village.
UNDER 12s: The U-12 hurlers had a two-point victory over Ballyduff in the
Co. League on Friday evening. Full time score 3-1 and Ballyduff 1-6.
UNDER 14s FOOTBALL: The U-14 football team had a one point win over St.
Pats in the Co. League. Score Ballyheigue 4-8 and St. Pats 2-13.
UNDER 16s: The U-16 hurlers were defeated by a strong Crokes/Rathmore team
in the Co. League.
SENIOR: The Ballyheigue senior hurlers had a hard earned one point win over
St. Brendans in the Co. League on Sunday. Final score Ballyheigue 3-12 and
St. Brendans 0-20. Team: Kevin Mahony, Danny Casey, Damien Casey, Colin
Mahony, Diarmuid Walsh 0-1, Jason Griffin, Michael Leane, Paudie Carroll

KERRY HURLERS: Congratulations to the Kerry Senior hurlers who gained
promotion to Division 1B of the N. H.L. when they defeated Antrim at Parnell
Park on Saturday. Full time score Kerry 2-16 and Antrim 1-18. The
Ballyheigue Club were represented on the team by Philip Lucid.
FIXTURES: Co. U-12 football league Ballyheigue v Beaufort at John Joe
O’Sullivan Park on Sunday evening 6pm. Co. Under 12 hurling Ballyheigue B
v St. Pats at Killarney on Friday evening 7 pm. Co. Under 16 hurling
league Ballyheigue v St. Brendan’s at John Joe O’Sullivan Park Thursday
evening 7 pm. Co. Senior hurling league – Ballyheigue v Kilmoyley at
Kilmoyley on Sunday 2.30pm.
DEATH: The death took place during the week of Edmond (Bob) Flahive,
Marian Park, Ballyheigue and late of Tiduff, Ballyheigue. Removal on
Tuesday evening from Hartnett’s Funeral Home to St. Mary’s Church,
Ballyheigue, R.I.P. Following Requiem Mass burial was on Wednesday in the
Holy Family Cemetery, Ballyheigue. Sympathy is extended to his relatives
and friends.
COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 6th April in
the Ballyheigue & District Coursing Club Lotto: 2-7-13-24. Jackpot was not
won. The €50 winner was Robyn Madden, C/o Tom Joe. The €25 winners were
Christine Nealon, C/o Tom Joe; Jacob Quille, C/o Mike and Anthony Glavin,
C/o Macs. Next week’s Jackpot €1,200.
